Ebay Canada and the Rest

When you are surfing through the myriad of Ebay auctions, have you ever stopped to think about just exactly how large Ebay has become? There are specialized versions of Ebay for different countries. It is not just a US "thing" anymore. Ebay Canada, Australia and many more are connecting us in ways we never imagined.

For less than fifteen dollars, the first Ebay auction ended. The buyer won a broken laser pointer and the seller began a billion dollar company. Pierre Omidyar never imagined how popular his online auction company would become. Since 1995, when the first auction was listed, Ebay has grown exponentially and continues to grow each day.

Ebay was a success. From that moment on, profits began soaring. As a direct result, more auctions were listed. Some of the auctions were from different companies and a far cry from San Jose, California. Enter in divisions of Ebay service that was customized to reflect the language, shipping and currency of different countries. Ebay Canada was one of these specialized branches of Ebay.

Ebay Canada has very little differences than the United States version of Ebay. The currency is fixed on pounds and the shipping reflects prices within the borders. This does not stop or hinder customers from around the world from bidding on products or services. It might mean higher shipping rates to other countries and a currency conversion but the rules are almost the same.

The different rules that may affect different versions of Ebay found throughout the world might involve products that cannot leave the country or certain laws. An example would be fruits or animal products being shipped into the United States. Items that would not be allowed to be driven across the border would not be sold to US citizens legally. Ebay Canada does not have as strict rules regarding packaging coming and going into the United States but it is worth researching. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Whether you use Ebay or not, it is here to stay and will continue to flourish as more people become members. At least for now considering that competitors are always willing to take a piece of the auction market away. It might be a little comforting to know that we can all be connected in at least one way. We can all sit and watch a pink elephant or broken laser be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Who knows? Maybe you can have a broken laser to call your own.
