Could You Become a Life Coach?
Have you ever wondered if you could become a life coach? You've no
doubt seen that they can make a fair deal of money. Not to mention,
many of them are wonderful helpers to those who need the help. But
not everyone is suited to being a life coach, not even those who
actually claim the title. For this reason, it is important to
understand what it takes to become a life coach
.
The first thing to understand is that a life coach is not a
psychologist. Life coaches usually don't have any training in
psychology and are not able to judge possible mental disorders. The
job of a life coach is essentially a lot like that of a therapist,
but it is done differently than a psychologist would do it.
Psychological therapy tends to focus on how a person arrived where
they are. The life coach might discuss family issues, growing up,
past relationships and whatever else may contribute to a person
being where currently they are. Life coaching tends to focus on
where the person wants to go. Instead of trying to "cure" a person,
life coaching simply tries to help the person succeed in life.
So could you become a life coach? It's completely possible. To
become a life coach, you must have patience and a love of helping
people. You need to be able to listen to people as they discuss
their fears and why they can't succeed, then help them realize that
in spite of those things, they actually can be successful. It's not
an easy task and many life coaches despair and feel like they can
never help people. But, if you can get past that, you could be the
kind of person who could become a life coach.
The journey to become a life coach is an easy one to start. Simply
search the web for a life coach institute or go to one you've seen
advertised locally. Once you receive your life coach certificate,
you can start helping people discover new and exciting ways to
succeed in life. After all, you found your own exciting way to
succeed for just that reason!
